Welcome to Epiphany Cathedral School!! This is a GREAT school!
Let me tell you a little about myself. Born and raised in Massachusetts to a strong Catholic family, I was the second oldest of five children. My father was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Both my parents were very active in the Catholic Church, and while growing up, I spent many weekends at spiritual retreats. My husband, John Lynch, attended St. Catherine's School in Norwood. We met at a teacher's conference in Williamstown, Massachusetts. To celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary we took a trip to Italy and the Vatican last summer! Next year we are planning a trip to Fatima with Matthew Kelly, an International speaker on Catholicism! We are both charismatic Catholics. I have been baptized in the Spirit. We both attended a Cursillo... Decolores! John and I have taught CCD and attended a Marriage Encounter Weekend. We are both members of the Legion of Mary at Incarnation Church and say the rosary daily. I am also a Eucharistic Minister. We believe the three most important things in life are Faith, Family, and Friends!
We have three grown daughters. Our oldest daughter, Jill, now lives in Sarasota after graduating from the American Music and Drama Academy (AMDA) and spending seven years in New York City. She now owns a dance studio in Sarasota - The Stage Door. Our second daughter, Jenny, is married to Dave McCarron. She teaches first grade at Wilkinson school, and he teaches in Manatee. They gave us our two beautiful grandchildren, Jack and Grace. Our youngest daughter, Jackie, graduated from St. Leo University and lives in Sarasota. My mother, Dorothy Potts, lives with us. She had a brain aneurism in December of 2003. By the grace of God, she survived and is doing well! She celebrated her 82nd birthday this year!
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with a concentration in early childhood from Bridgewater State College. I have been a pre-school, kindergarten and first grade teacher. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education from USF and have been a resource teacher in K-5 and an Exceptional Student Education Liaison. My EDS is from Nova Southeastern University in Educational Leadership, and I am a Florida certified principal. I was an administrator in the Sarasota School System for eight years as the Assistant Principal at Venice Middle School and Sarasota Middle School.
I am truly blessed to be the Principal at Epiphany Cathedral School, a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. I believe in professional development for all my staff. At Epiphany Cathedral School we are always looking for researched based curriculum and technology that can prepare our students for a global society and teach Christian values and social justice.
