Development Office

The office of Stewardship and Development at Epiphany works to secure a greater base of support for Epiphany Cathedral Parish and School by working with families, alumni, parishioners and partnering parishes as well as the general community.  In addition to fund-raising and planned giving, the office coordinates the grant writing, marketing and public relations efforts of both the school and parish.

Today, technological advances and other factors continue to push up the costs of meeting individual student needs.  Many families believe that they cannot afford to provide a Catholic education for one, let alone multiple, children.    Donors can help support Catholic education through their financial and estate planning as well as annual donations to the school.   Here are a variety of ways to support Epiphany Cathedral School.  Please contact Chris Coviello, Director of Development at 941.484.3505, ext 151 or direct-line at 615-0284.

Epiphany Angel Program:

Many students want a Catholic education, but are in need of tuition-assistance.  The Epiphany Angel Program is a way for donors to make a contribution of their choice to assist with a student's tuition. There are angels of all sizes!  Some adopt a family of students, some adopt one student and some just give a contribution towards tuition.  These donations may be made anonymous and are a wonderful way to make a difference in the life of a child.

Annual Contributions:

Donations made annually through the school envelopes and given directly to the school will allow the donor a tax deduction and at the same time support a particular project or the overall operations budget of the school.  These can be made at the Development office via check, cash, MC, Visa or American Express.

Cash Gifts, Memorials, Honorariums and Other Tributes:

Honor a loved one with a memorial contribution or a gift contribution in their honor.  Memorial acknowledgements are sent to the family member of the deceased and a certificate is made if the contribution is in honor of a special birthday, anniversary, etc.  These may be given in any amount and will usually provide a current income tax donation.  Contributions over $500 receive special recognition on the donor plaque hung in the school.

Scholarship Funds:

A scholarship fund may be established with an annual % of the fund going to a student.  Scholarship requirements may be tailored to the donors wishes.  A $10,000 minimum contribution is required for an endowed scholarship.  This endowed scholarship will have a minimum annual payout to the awarded student(s).

Wills and Bequests:

Name Epiphany Cathedral School in your will to receive cash, securities or other property at the itme of death.

Planned Giving:

Various trust forms and gift annuities are available to prospective donors and each form has its own characteristics and advantages to the donor's particular circumstances.  Please contact the development office and our representative will work with you and your financial planner / attorney to ensure your donation receive the maximum benefit.

Securities:

Gifts of stocks, bonds and other securities may be donated.  Please contact the Development office to alert them of the transfer and receive a DTC number for electronic stock transfers.

Life Insurance:

This offers a special vehicle for charitable gifts because the size of the gift is usually many times the actual amount of the premiums paid up to the date of death.  Existing insurance policies, newly purchased policies, or combinations of old and new policies can be integrated into gift-giving plans.
